Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all use of the GliVal Booking Platform (“GliVal”, “we”, “our”), operated by X STAR CODE, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (Registration Number: TN26511691).

Violations of this AUP may result in warnings, content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, termination, or other actions necessary to protect Clients, Customers, and the Platform.
1. Purpose of This Policy
GliVal exists to support lawful, safe, and respectful interactions between independent service providers (“Customers”) and their Clients.
All activity on the Platform must:
- comply with applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws,
- respect other users,
- avoid causing harm,
- preserve integrity, trust, and safety of the booking ecosystem.
2. Prohibited Services & Activities
2.1 Illegal or Unlawful Services
Users may not use GliVal to offer, promote, or facilitate:
- any service prohibited under Canadian or provincial law,
- services requiring a license the Customer does not possess,
- activities violating municipal bylaws,
- controlled substances, weapons, or unlicensed medical procedures,
- fraudulent, deceptive, or criminal activity.
GliVal does not verify licensing; Customers bear full responsibility.
2.2 Harmful or Dangerous Activities
Prohibited:
- services posing unreasonable risk of injury or harm,
- violence, hate, harassment, or discrimination,
- threats, bullying, stalking, or intimidation.
2.3 Explicit or Adult Content
GliVal is not an adult-content platform.
Prohibited:
- sexual services or implied sexual services,
- explicit imagery or nudity,
- adult entertainment bookings.
2.4 Medical, Cosmetic, or High-Risk Procedures
Customers may not offer or promote any medical, high-risk, or regulated cosmetic procedures unless they hold all required licenses, certifications, and approvals mandated by applicable municipal, provincial, and federal laws.
Examples of regulated or restricted services include:
- injections (e.g., Botox, dermal fillers, PRP, mesotherapy),
- IV therapy or vitamin infusions,
- microneedling using medical-grade devices,
- chemical peels beyond cosmetic-grade formulations,
- permanent makeup, tattooing, or micropigmentation requiring certification,
- laser treatments regulated by health authorities,
- removal of moles, lesions, or skin tags,
- any procedure classified as a medical act under Alberta Health Services or other provincial regulators.
GliVal does not verify licenses or certifications and is not responsible for determining whether a Customer is legally permitted to perform a given service.
Customers are solely responsible for ensuring that their services comply with all applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
GliVal may, at its discretion, suspend or restrict accounts if a service appears unlawful, unsafe, or improperly represented, but is under no obligation to request, store, or review licensing documentation.
3. Misuse of the Platform
Users may not:
- interfere with the Platform’s technical operation,
- bypass or modify security mechanisms,
- scrape or extract data without consent,
- reverse-engineer or probe the system,
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts,
- deploy bots, malware, or harmful scripts,
- overload the system via automated traffic.
GliVal may employ rate limits, Recaptcha, and automated fraud detection.
4. Misuse of SMS, Email, and Notifications
Users may not:
- send spam or unsolicited promotional messages,
- use Client phone numbers or emails for unrelated marketing,
- impersonate GliVal in communications,
- circumvent messaging quotas,
- misuse booking confirmations or pay-rest links.
Suspicious messaging activity may result in restrictions or suspension.
5. Misuse of Payment Systems
Users may not:
- misrepresent off-platform payments as being processed, guaranteed, or endorsed by GliVal,
- interfere with or manipulate Stripe Connect Express when an online payment is initiated through the Platform,
- present external payment methods as an official part of the GliVal booking or refund workflow,
- falsify no-show or cancellation events to trigger or avoid automated charges,
- misuse Stripe dispute processes or fabricate evidence related to Platform-handled payments.
GliVal does not prohibit Customers from accepting payments outside the Platform; however, any such transactions are entirely outside GliVal’s control and responsibility. GliVal does not provide support, guarantees, or dispute resolution for off-platform payments.
6. Content Restrictions
6.1 Prohibited Content
Users may not upload or display:
- explicit, violent, hateful, or abusive material,
- discriminatory or defamatory statements,
- copyrighted materials without authorization,
- misleading service descriptions or pricing,
- content promoting illegal or harmful activity.
6.2 Portfolio & Subdomain Content
Portfolio images and service examples must:
- be owned or licensed by the Customer,
- not infringe copyrights or trademarks,
- accurately represent the Customer’s work,
- not depict identifiable minors without legal guardian consent.
7. Reviews & Reputation Integrity
Users may not:
- coerce Clients to leave positive reviews,
- threaten Customers with negative reviews,
- post fabricated, duplicate, or incentivized reviews,
- harass or target individuals through reviews.
GliVal may hide or remove reviews violating this AUP.
8. Data Misuse & Privacy Violations
Users may not:
- collect or store Client data for unrelated marketing,
- share or sell personal information obtained through bookings,
- upload sensitive identity documents to the Platform,
- collect unnecessary medical data,
- attempt to deanonymize or track other users beyond Platform needs.
Users must comply with applicable privacy legislation, including PIPEDA.
9. Fraud, Integrity, and Trust Violations
Prohibited activities include:
- providing false identity or business information,
- creating multiple accounts to evade restrictions,
- manipulating location, availability, or pricing to mislead Clients,
- inflating reviews, ratings, or appointment counts artificially,
- attempting to exploit cancellations, refunds, or dispute mechanisms.
GliVal may suspend accounts for suspicious activity without prior notice.
10. Enforcement
GliVal may take any enforcement action deemed necessary to protect the Platform, including:
- warnings or corrective education,
- temporary feature restrictions,
- removal of violating content,
- account suspension or permanent termination,
- blocking payments or payouts,
- contacting Stripe regarding payment violations,
- cooperating with lawful investigations.
GliVal has full discretion in determining violations and appropriate actions.
11. Changes to This AUP
GliVal may update this AUP at any time.
Significant changes may be announced through the Platform.
Continued use of GliVal after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
